Iced Berry Green Tea

DSC_7230_2This has been a four-day weekend for me, and it has been glorious. I didn’t know I needed a break from work until I had it, and now I don’t want to go back! My parents were in town for the last three days so we had a pretty busy weekend that mostly involved stuffing our faces until we felt sick, napping and then doing it all over again. They left to go back to Houston this morning so I didn’t really have any plans for my Monday off. That resulted in shoe shopping and homemade iced tea…so in other words, the perfect day.

I went shopping this morning and came home with two new pairs of shoes (that I CANNOT WAIT to wear), a bracelet and a necklace. I followed up my shoe shopping by talking on the phone for two hours (this is what happens when my husband goes surfing for the day), then I made this iced tea and watched the zillion episodes of Chopped that I have taped. It really was an excellent day.

This tea is pretty darn sweet because I included a cup of sugar in it. I realized that I probably could have just used the fruit, and it would have been sweet enough. There is no such thing as too sweet for me though so I love it! I just wanted to give a word of warning to those of you who “don’t like sweets”, even though I will never understand that statement. I cannot even fathom it so I will continue to eat a lot of pie and drink sweet tea.
