30 Semi-Healthy Days - Day 11: Citrus Green Tea Latte
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 lemon peels (I used the peel from half of a lemon)
- 3 fresh mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon green tea matcha powder
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup nonfat milk
Instructions:
- Combine the water, sugar, lemon peel and mint in a small saucepan over medium heat, whisking until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Combine the matcha powder, hot water (make sure the water is super hot since your milk won't be heated up too much) and 2 teaspoons citrus mint simple syrup (more or less depending on how sweet you like it) in a mug. Reserve the rest of the simple syrup for future lattes!
- Froth the milk using the method described above (put in mason jar, shake for 30 seconds and microwave for 30 seconds).
- Save the foam at the top of the mason jar and add the rest of the milk to the tea, stirring to combine. Top with the reserved foam.
