Apple Cider Latte
Ingredients:
For the Apple Cider Latte
- 2 shots espresso (or 1/2 cup strong, brewed coffee)
- 3 ounces apple cider
- 1/2 cup milk (skim or oat milk work best)
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup
For the Fall Spiced Whipped Cream:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions:
For the Apple Cider Latte:
- Pour espresso or coffee into your mug.
- Meanwhile, combine the apple cider, milk and maple syrup in a microwave safe container or in a small saucepan. Heat to a simmer and whisk to make sure it is all well combined.
- Heat the milk in a smalls saucepan over medium low heat. Wait for the milk to just start steaming before removing it from the heat. Do not let it come to a boil as this causes the fat to separate and results in curdling.
- Use a milk frother to froth the warm milk and cider mixture and pour over the hot espresso or coffee.
- Serve topped with whipped cream and a little nutmeg and/or a cinnamon stick.
For the Fall Spiced Whipped Cream:
- Combine all ingredients with a whisk.
- Beat with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form, about 3 minutes.
