Baked Cherry Apple Cider Doughnuts

  1. Cherry Apple Cider Glaze:
  2. Combine all ingredients until smooth. Add cider or sugar to get to the consistency you want.
  3. Dip the doughnuts in the glaze and allow it to harden.
  4. Baked Cherry Apple Cider Doughnuts:
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  6. Combine all dry ingredients (flour through the ginger) in a large bowl.
  7. Add the apple cider, applesauce and canola oil. Use an electric hand mixer to combine until smooth (mine broke so I just used a wooden spoon).
  8. Pour the batter into a ziploc bag and cut one corner off. Use the ziploc to pipe the mixture into a doughnut pan that holds six doughnuts.
  9. Bake at 350 for 9 or 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the doughnuts to cool completely before glazing.
