Banana Bread Brownies
Ingredients:
For the banana bread brownies
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks
For the maple whipped cream
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
Instructions:
For the banana bread brownies
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 9x9 baking pan with cooking spray and line with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the sugar, brown sugar, eggs and melted butter.
- Stir in the mashed bananas.
- Stir in the cocoa powder and flour until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake at 325 degrees F. for 35-40 minutes. Check by inserting a toothpick. It should not come out completely clean so that the brownies are slightly gooey, but it should not be covered in wet batter either.
- Let cool for 15 minutes and serve a little warm with maple whipped cream.
For the maple whipped cream
- Beat heavy cream with a hand or stand mixer until soft peaks form.
- Add maple syrup and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Serve a heaping spoonful of whipped cream with each brownie.
