Blackberries and Cream Milkshakes
Ingredients:
For the vanilla milkshake
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1/3 - 1/2 cup milk (I used skim)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon honey
For the blackberry swirl
- 3/4 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
For the whipped cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
For the vanilla milkshake
- Blend all ingredients until smooth. Start with 1/3 cup of milk and add more if it is too thick. You can also always add more ice cream if you find it to be too thin.
- Fill 2 glasses about 3/4 of the way.
For the blackberry swirl
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
- Strain if you don't like the seeds and then divide equally on top of the 2 vanilla shakes. Use a spoon or knife to gently swirl into the milkshakes.
For the whipped cream
- Use a mixer to beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- With the mixer on low, slowly add the sugar and vanilla. Turn mixer back to high and continue mixing until stiff peaks form.
- Top milkshakes with a swirl of whipped cream and fresh blackberries.
