Campfire White Russian

For the spiced simple syrup:

  1. Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Slowly bring a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Remove from heat and add the spices. Let spices steep for 15 minutes. Strain and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

For the White Russian:

  1. Fill a glass with ice cubes and add the vodka, coffee liqueur and spiced simple syrup.
  2. Swirl the glass to stir the mixture. Pour over the heavy cream or coconut milk and swirl the glass again to mix.
  3. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, whole star anise and a toasted marshmallow to resemble a campfire.
