Cherry-Chocolate Chip Scones

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Mix together the flour sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the flour and combine with a pastry blender until a crumbly mixture forms.
  3. Add the egg, cherries, and milk and fold together with a spatula just until moistened.
  4. Pat the dough into a 1 to 2 inch-thick disk on a lightly floured cookie sheet.
  5. Brush the dough with heavy cream and sprinkle liberally with the Demerara sugar.
  6. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely and then glaze if desired.
