Chocolate Strawberry Baked Doughnuts

For the ganache and strawberries:

Instructions:

  1. For the doughnuts:
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and grease a doughnut pan.
  3. Whisk together the liquid ingredients.
  4. Add Kodiak Cakes dark chocolate mix and sugar to the liquid ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  5. Pipe or spoon the mixture into greased doughnut pan.
  6. Bake at 350 for 6-7 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before frosting.
  7. For the ganache and strawberries:
  8. Combine the butter and heavy cream in a microwave safe bowl or small saucepan and heat until just starting to simmer and butter is melted (about a minute and a half in the microwave).
  9. Pour over the chopped dark chocolate and let sit for about 3 minutes.
  10. Stir until smooth and combined. Let cool for about 10 minutes.
  11. Spread ganache over cooled doughnuts.
  12. Combine sugar and water and microwave for 30 seconds to dissolve sugar.
  13. Toss with the sliced strawberries to glaze and layer on top of the ganache.
