Fall Spiced Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Fall Spiced Sugar Cookies:
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  3. Whisk together the dry ingredients (flour through the nutmeg) in a medium sized bowl and set aside.
  4. Cream the sugars and the butter with a wooden spoon or an electric mixer in a large bowl. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until smooth.
  5. Add the dry ingredients and beat at a low speed until dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut out whatever shapes you want with some cookie cutters. I love sugar cookies to be super thin so I ended up getting close to 3 dozen cookies, but if you make them thick you will probably get about 2 dozen.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are just very slightly browned. Cool and decorate.
  8. Icing:
  9. Combine all ingredients with an electric mixer until smooth.
