Garlic Cheese Buns

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer and let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the garlic salt and olive oil and begin mixing on low. Add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a smooth dough forms. You will want to turn the mixer up to high and let it go for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Put the dough into a bowl coated with olive oil, cover, and let sit in a warm place for an hour to an hour and a half until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces. Place a cube of cheddar in the center of each and pinch the dough closed around it. Roll into a tight ball by pressing it into the counter with the palm of your hand and making tight circles.
  5. Mix together the shredded cheese. Sprinkle a small amount of the shredded cheese mixture for each roll on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place each roll on top.
  6. Brush each roll with the melted butter and sprinkle some garlic salt on the top of each. Mix together all of the shredded cheese and press a small handful onto each roll.
  7. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
