Green Tea Chai Latte
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup nonfat milk (any nondairy milk works great for a vegan option)
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup (more if you like it sweeter)
- 1-2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3-4 black peppercorns
- 3-4 whole cloves
- 3-4 whole cardamom pods
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or seeds from 1 vanilla bean)
- 1 teaspoon matcha green tea
Instructions:
- Combine the water, milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, peppercorns, cloves, cardamom and vanilla in a small saucepan over medium-low heat and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add the matcha, whisking to dissolve it.
- Pour the green tea chai tea into a cup through a sieve to strain.
- Use a milk frother to foam it up as much as you like before drinking. If you are using the jar method to froth the milk, just reserve about 1/4 cup of milk to heat separately in a jar in the microwave. Cover with a lid and shake vigorously to foam it up. Pour over the prepared latte.
