Jalapeno Cheese Bread

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Combine 3 cups flour, salt, yeast and warm water in a stand mixer fitted with the hook attachment until a dough forms (it will be very sticky).
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let sit in a warm area for at least 12 hours and up to 18 hours (I usually leave it overnight).
  3. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Place the cast iron pot with the lid on in the oven for 20-30 minutes while it heats up.
  4. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and add the additional 1/2 cup flour, jalapenos and shredded cheese. Use your hands to incorporate everything and form the dough into a ball. Place on a piece of parchment paper.
  5. Press the additional cubed cheese randomly into the dough throughout and close the dough over them by pinching.
  6. Place the dough into the heated pot and bake at 450 degrees F. for 30 minutes with the lid on.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes.
  8. Let cool before slicing.
