Maple Apple Butter
Ingredients:
- 4 lbs apples (I used a combination of Golden Delicious and Rome apples since that's what I picked at the orchard earlier this week)
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
Instructions:
- Mix everything together in a large crockpot. Cook on low for 10 hours or high for 5 hours.
- Use an immersion blender (or just transfer to a regular blender if you don't have an immersion blender) to blend the apples until smooth.
- Cover and continue to cook on low for another 2 hours before canning.
