Maple Butter Blondies
Ingredients:
For the blondies
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chunks
- 1/2 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
For the maple butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream or half & half
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions:
For the blondies
- Grease an 8×8 baking pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.*
- Whisk together melted butter, maple syrup and brown sugar.
- Whisk in the egg and vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate, saving a few to sprinkle on top.
- Spread batter in a greased 8×8 baking pan and sprinkle with a few extra chocolate chips.*
- Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20-25 minutes or until just browned on the edges, and a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs clinging to it.*
For the maple butter
- Place the maple syrup and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook until the mixture comes to a boil and thickens, about 5 minutes. Add the cream and continue to cook for 3 minutes before removing from the heat.
- Serve blondies with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of maple butter on top.
