Maple Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Cream together the butter and sugars with a mixer until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the egg and maple syrup, mixing until smooth.
  3. Add the dry ingredients and mix in just until combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.*
  5. Refrigerate the dough for at least an hour or freeze for 20 minutes to prevent them from spreading too much when baking.
  6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  7. Use a cookie scoop to make large balls about 2 tablespoons, and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until just starting to brown on the edges.
