Maple Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package of your favorite chocolate chips or chocolate melting wafers
Instructions:
- Cream together the butter and sugars with a mixer until smooth, about 2 minutes.
- Add the egg and maple syrup, mixing until smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix in just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.*
- Refrigerate the dough for at least an hour or freeze for 20 minutes to prevent them from spreading too much when baking.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Use a cookie scoop to make large balls about 2 tablespoons, and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes or until just starting to brown on the edges.
