Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
- Sea salt, for sprinkling on top
Instructions:
- Use a mixer to cream together the shortening and sugars until smooth and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until fluffy.
- Add flour, baking soda and salt, mixing until combined into a dough.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop into 1 inch balls and place on parchment-lined sheet in the freezer for 15 minutes while you preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes until the edges are just browning.
- Sprinkle with a little sea salt, if desired.
